So.. I have a new album available online. It's somewhat of a sister album to The Devils, which will be ready in the next couple of weeks and released by 12 Tónar and Lefse records at somepoint this year. But for now I'm only making this album (Death) available as a download and a few physical copies that can only be ordered directly from me. I might do a proper release for it later in the year. But we'll see. Well anyway, you can listen to it right here:

Have you ever checked out gogoyoko ? You should, it's pretty cool. You can listen to a lot of Icelandic music on there for free. And you can of course buy it too. My first three albums are on there. And a lot of other stuff. It's cool. If you go on there I recommend you check out Kimono, Hudson Wayne and Reykjavík!.

Got a little mix I just made. Its, like my mixes usually are, just a few songs that I really like. Some old, some new. Just whatever I felt like putting on it.

1. Guided By Voices - As we go up, we go down (from Alien Lanes LP).

Whats there to say. GBV is one of my all time favorites and Alien Lanes is definitely one of my favorite albums of theirs. This is as classic a GBV song as they get. Just heard the latest Robert Pollard solo album the other day. It sounded great as was to be expected.

2. Cola Freaks - Dodt Batteri (from dodt batteri 7")

One of the many many many amazing danish punk bands around. Apparently they´ll be releasing their first full length album this year so that´s something I´m very excited about.

3. Thee Oh Sees - Sugar Boat (from Dog Poison LP)

A great song from a great band. Released two excellent albums in 2009 but I seem to be one of the few that prefers Dog Poison.

4. Chavez - The Guard Attacks (from Ride the Fader LP)

A 90s classic that´s way too often overlooked. Pure guitar-indie-rock genius.

5. Justin Ripley - Borrowers (from Just Just LP)

Don´t really know anything about this guy. But you can get his album for free on his website. As well as a rather splendid compilation of home recordings. Highly recommended.

6. Smog - Morality (from Supper LP)

Smog is another one of my absolute favorites. His albums as Smog and under his own name (Bill Callahan) are pretty much all great.

7. Slowblow - Is Jesus Your Pal (from Quicksilver Tuna LP)

An Icelandic classic. A beautiful lo-fi folk song. Kinda sounds like a lot of the stuff that´s popular these days.

8. Kurt Vile - Don´t get cute (from Constant Hitmaker LP)

You probably all know Kurt Vile by now. As you should. This is just one of the many great songs he´s released.

9. Vollmar - Tell the dirt (from Tell the dirt LP)

Justin Vollmar is an criminally underrated songwriter. He also happens to be a friend of mine and I´ve been lucky enough to play a handful of shows with him. All his albums are great but his latest one (tell the dirt) is probably his best. Go check him out.

10. Bonnie Prince Billy - Wolf among wolves (from Master and Everyone LP)

There´s not a lot to say about Will Oldham. He writes great songs and releases great albums. But you probably all know that by now.

Last Saturday I played with two very different but great bands I feel the need to blog about on here.

Saturday night my band the deathmetal supersquad played the release show for our friends Beneaths new ep. Beneath play rather awesome heavy deathmetal that comes highly recommended.

Earlier in the day my summer as a salvation soldier played and in store at the lovely Havarí record store with old pals Hudson Wayne who recently came out of hibernation with a new album which is already becoming a strong contender for the album of the year.

Hudson Wayne are heading on a tour of Germany with Seabear. You should check out a show if you can.

Sometime last year I released an EP. It´s called "nýtt". You can get it at Lefse records homepage as well as most mp3 stores on the net (itunes, emusic etc..).

I´ve finished recording two new albums. One is basically ready and the other one is being mastered sometime next week. I´m not 100% on when and how they´ll be released yet but I´ll sort that all out soon.
